Foster Update - 1/22/13 - Pretty Girl took about 2 or so weeks to warm up to me. I just let her alone and let her get used to her new surroundings. She hid and hissed and growled at me for a little while, but once she got used to me and her new surroundings, she purred and loved to sit beside me on the couch, which is also where she sleeps the better part of the day. She also licks my hand from time to time. She has a reserved personality and is quite timid.
She is not a lap cat and doesn’t like to be held. She doesn’t like loud noises or change and she doesn’t like other animals around. No kids either.
She loves to play with her tennis ball and a couple of other toys. She is very quiet and would be a great companion for someone who is very patient.
She is a very fastidious cat. Likes 2 litter boxes (one to pee in and one to poop). She will only use Fresh Step in either the clumping form or gravel form (nonclumping).
She does not get on the furniture, kitchen counters, or dinner table, which is a plus. Except for the couch and sometimes the bed. That is her spot. She does not sleep in bed with me. Sometimes she comes in the bedroom but will sleep under the bed. She has gotten on the bed a few times just to look out the window but won’t stay, yet.
I give her a teaspoon of wet food in the evening, which she really enjoys. She also enjoys laying out on my porch.
Owner's comments - Pretty Girl has been part of our family since December of 2007, when we adopted her from Pet Rescue by Judy when she was 4 months old. Her name is Oreo, but we have always called her "pretty girl" and that is what she responds to. We are relocating to Cincinnati and are unable to bring her with us :( . Oreo is a female black and white tuxedo cat with green eyes and a reserved personality. She loves to be affectionate, but does not like to be held. We are unsure on how she interacts with other animals or cats since she has been an "only child" since we adopted her. She mostly enjoys to spend her time in her cat tower/tree which is placed in front of a large window where she is able to watch outside. She has a bed she also enjoys laying in when she is looking for a softer place to sleep. She loves to eat and will let you know by being extra affectionate or by collapsing on the floor, stretching, and showing you her pretty snow white belly (she knows we love to rub her belly). You will hardly ever hear her meow unless she gets locked in a room by herself or if she is lonely. She does not enjoy alot of noise, commotion or change. She is spayed, declawed (front paws), and up to date with shots and records.
