Gunner is an active, bright, handsome 7-month-old neutered pure bred papered Black and Mahogany Rottweiler, who's full of energy and LOTS of love he can't wait to share with his NEW forever family. Gunner adores children. He hasn't quite figured out what a "cat" is yet. He doesn't bother cats ... he's just curious about them, and his foster parents have 4 of them ... so he's learning quickly. Gunner is a gentle giant! His favorite toy is a ball. Gunner already knows how to "shake" and learned quickly that it is not okay to jump up to grab at the ball. He now responds to "down" ... at which point he looks up with anticipation and "im"patiently waits for the ball to be thrown. His previous owner told us he is crate trained, but he is still trying to get the knack of proper bathroom etiquette when out of the crate. With the right amount of time, patience and attention, Gunner is sure to master this technique. His foster parents are working with him, though.

They are highly intelligent and have proven their worth beyond question in police, military, and customs work over many centuries. This breed needs a lot of companionship and socialization to be truly happy. They can be aggressive with other dogs and should be kept on leashes in public places. Friends and relatives of the family are normally enthusiastically welcomed. Strangers can get no further than the sidewalk. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
