Description:
Massey is one of God's miracles. This dear thing has survived what others might not have. He was spotted near the corporate headquarters of Massey Pest Control Services. This was one scarey looking dog ~ abused, malnourished, flea bitten and covered in mange. Oh, but the look in his eyes..... The sorrow, the pain, the hope. A couple of kind women went out to him bearing gifts of food (I'm thinking PBJs) while another got on the phone and started calling animal control and rescues. Eventually they got to Judy. A short time later in rode the calvary. When Michelle bent down to the dog, he greeted her with a kiss. How is it these animals always recognize their hope for the future? Michelle scooped up this little bit of nothing and brought him straight to the vet. Is anyone suprised to know that Massey, as he in now known, has heartworms, hookworms and a bunch of other things? But Judy is determined to not lose this dog! Edia sat on the floor with the dear thing and gave him the love and attention he needed. Michelle (the other Michelle) got out her Dog Food Nation cookbook and cooked up a recipe recommended for malnourished dogs. We are going to get Massey healthy again so he can have the family he deserves!
Oh, and the good people of Masssey Services? They have taken up collection to help offset the medical expenses of our boy. Massey paid a visit to them a couple of weeks after his rescue to say thank you. They couldn't believe the difference in his appearance. What a wonderful organization! If you need pest control, call them!!!
Please, spay and neuter your pets! Puppies and kittens grow into dogs and cats. When their "family" grows tired of them, there aren't enough homes to take them all and so they get eugthanized or left to starve. We don't want another pet to suffer as Massey has suffered. So do the right thing and spay and neuter your pets!

Update 07/05/2008 I thought I would update Massey's information as it is very outdated. Massey is doing just fine now and is heartworm free. I don't have a clue why this guy hasn't been adopted yet. He is one of the most loving guys I have ever met. He loves to be the center of attention and loves everyone equally! He always has a smile on his face and is just so happy to be alive and loved! He always greets everyone with a smile and lots of tail wagging. I love this guy to death and would have adopted him a long time ago but unfortunately Massey's only down fall is that he thinks cats are treats and I have four that I love with all my heart and don't want see Massey picking his teeth with a tooth pick!
