Description:Twinkle came to us from another shelter. She is so beautiful and needs a forever home!
Foster Update 11/14 - Twinkle is a friendly, playful dog that is eager to please and greets every person she meets with a wagging tail and wet kisses. Usually she wants nothing more than to be wherever people are and has been wonderful with our children. Twinkle considers herself an over sized lap dog and will take every opportunity she gets to sit with you. She is good with large dogs and loves to run and play. In addition to her great personality, she is a beautiful dog with a reddish yellow coat. Twinkle would truly make a great family dog.
Twinkle can be overly aggressive with female dogs and animals smaller than herself including cats. I feel she would do best in a home no cats or other female dogs.
Volunteer update 11/6: Twinkle is such a typical lab. She is very loving and sweet and has shown a real love for children when out at adoption events. I can't speak for her living with them but has tolerated them petting her, hugging her and all the associated loud noise and activity. She is good with most dogs but sometimes finds a couple that get on her nerves! She is beautiful and such a great size about 40lbs but looks much small than the typical lab. She loves walks and seems to greet everyone whom will pet her with a tail wag and a little kiss!
*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
