UPDATE 01/08/14 : Lincoln's doctor recently ran bloodwork tests after removing his tumor and he is now testing in the normal range!! He gained ten pounds and his prognosis is favorable! He is such a happy dog and loves attention! He is a survivor and would love a forever home!
His blood work came back perfect and he had his teeth cleaned. He eats great and looks great . At this moment he is perfect! He had 1/2 of his kidney removed but is not on meds and never had any other treatment.
PAST Foster update: Lincoln underwent major surgery for a cyst which was thought to be on his spleen , in fact was a 2.5 lb cyst on his kidney which both were removed. He is resting at home with me and his buddies and doing well. Today Dr. John called and said the biopsy came back positive for cancer. Not sure what type of cancer or what the prognosis is. I know he needs a loving home because he is such a sweet loving dog. Judy. He is being treated again for a lump on his leg, and is with Judy .
Ok after really looking at Lincoln, we think he is a Bassett Hound mixed with a Poodle. We also some votes for Cockadoodle (cocker spaniel and Poodle), and the shelter he came from from said labradoodle (labrador retriever with poodle) so who really knows? Whatever his genetics might be, one thing is for sure: he is a great dog! He is laid back and very affectionate. He loves to be with you, but he doesn't insist on trying to "help" and get in the middle of everything--just being by your side is good enough for him. Whoever adopts Lincoln will be getting a wonderful, loving companion!
