Description:Precious was rescued by a wonderful women whom has seen her through thick and thin..after some recovery she is now ready for her forever home see her story below as told by her rescuer..
When I found her, she had been hit by a car and was lying in the road. She was bleeding and couldn’t get up, but was conscious, so I picked her up and took her to a nearby animal hospital, Aloma Jancy in Oviedo. They treated and diagnosed her, and amazingly, she sustained no long term injuries. She has since made a complete recovery. She has a very sweet temper, is very comfortable around humans and other animals, and is very affectionate. I have nicknamed her “Precious”.She is estimated to be about 2-3 years old.
While she has been at the hospital recovering, I tried to locate her owner, because it is evident she is domesticated. I spoke with several residents in the area where I found her, and they identified a house in that neighborhood where the cat lived. Upon going to that location and speaking with the current resident, I found out that the current resident just recently moved into the home, and that the previous resident had been foreclosed on and forced out of the house by the bank. The previous resident was the owner of this sweet cat, but for whatever reason, could not take her with them. The current resident had felt badly about this, and had been putting food out for the cat, but could not permanently adopt her because they already have several animals of their own.
Now that Precious has recovered, I paid for her to have a complete blood work-up, including being tested for feline diseases (leukemia, AIDS, etc), and she is negative for all. I also paid the hospital to bring her completely up to date on all her vaccines, and she has been spayed. So, she is ready to go to a good forever home.
According to cat-lovers-only.com, the Calico cat breed is actually not a breed at all, but a tri-color coat patter, often black, red, and white. Many different types of cats can have this coat pattern, and it is not restricted to any particular type of breed. All three colors are in a distinct patches, not mixed as in Tortoiseshells. To be a true tri-color, a calico cat's colors must be: 1) white; 2) red or cream; and 3) black, blue, chocolate, lilac, cinnamon, or fawn. The variations in color from red and black are caused by a gene which dilutes, or lightens up the basic color, and produces a dilute calico cat, most commonly with a coat of white, cream, and blue."
