Description:

Rosemary is a quiet sweet girl who was a good momma to a litter of puppies when she came to us. She is still trying to figure out her place in the world and would benefit from a quiet home with a fenced yard. Before going into foster, Rosemary escaped from a volunteer while on a walk, and it took several days to catch her as she is very scared and unsure.
She is now in a home of an exerienced foster family who has a fenced yard. Rosemary is leash walked daily as she spooks easily. When she first arrived in foster, Rosemary wanted to stay in her crate and would bury herself under blankets, beds, any anything she could find. After a week, she stopped covering herself up and started preferring her crate to be in a more central area. Rosemary now shows interest in the goings on of the other dogs in the household, and although she prefers her crate, she will come out now and then to explore a bit of the house.
Rosemary sleeps in her crate at night but has the option to be out during the day. She has not had any accidents in the house and seems to be housetrained.     She will sit by the door when she needs to go out.   She is an escape risk.  She is still quite cautious about being outside, and once she has done her business, she will let you know wants to come back in. Stormy weather does spook her, and she is best closed in her crate until the winds and rain subside.

Rosemary is heartworm positive and has started a "slow kill" regimen of medication which we have found to be much easier on dogs than other harsher methods. Heartworm is not contagious, and would have easily been prevented had she been on monthly HW preventative.
