Kiwi — Adorable Yorkie Mix Looking for Her Forever Home

 Meet Kiwi, a precious little Yorkshire Terrier mix who traveled all the way from the streets of Puerto Rico to Pet Rescue By Judy through one of our wonderful rescue partners. This brave, tiny girl has had quite a journey, and now she is ready to find the loving forever family she deserves.

Kiwi is lucky enough to be part of the amazing Aloft Hotel foster program in downtown Orlando.

The fantastic hotel staff take wonderful care of her — giving her: 

• Lots of love and hugs
• Daily walks
• Playtime and enrichment
• Plenty of treats
• Socialization with new people

This program helps her stay confident, happy, and well-loved while she waits for her forever family.

Yorkie Grooming — Important Care for Kiwi’s Coat

 Yorkshire Terriers and Yorkie mixes often have fine, silky hair that requires consistent grooming. Anyone interested in Kiwi should be prepared for the following:

Regular Professional Grooming

•  Yorkies typically need a grooming appointment every 6–8 weeks.
• This includes trimming, sanitary grooming, nail clipping, and ear cleaning.
• Their hair grows continuously, similar to human hair.

 Brushing at Home

•  To prevent tangles and mats, brushing several times a week is recommended — sometimes daily if her coat grows long.
• A soft slicker brush and detangling spray work well for their delicate hair.

 Bathing

•   Bathing every 2–4 weeks keeps their coat healthy and shiny.
• Use gentle, hypoallergenic shampoo designed for sensitive skin.

 ️ Face & Eye Care

•  Yorkies are known for long facial hair that can irritate their eyes if not kept trimmed.
• Many owners choose to keep the face short or maintain a neat “top knot” to keep hair out of the eyes.
