Meet Frank — The Sweet Senior

Frank is a gentle, good-natured senior looking for a quiet, loving forever home. He came to Pet Rescue By Judy when his owner had to move into a nursing home. This sweet boy is doing well in rescue — he’s friendly with people and other dogs, walks nicely on leash, and is committed to his weight-loss journey.

 Quick facts

  •  Breed: Shepherd / Border Collie mix
  • Age: Senior — approximately 12 years
  • Temperament: Friendly with people and dogs, calm on leash
  • Health notes: Recently had a few teeth removed; currently on a weight-loss program (has lost 6 pounds so far). He is estimated to be 25–30 pounds over his ideal weight.
  • Ideal home: A patient, caring household willing to continue his gentle exercise and nutrition plan; no special breed or household restrictions noted.

About Frank

Frank is the kind of dog who wins you over slowly and deeply. After being surrendered through no fault of his own, he’s shown how adaptable and affectionate he can be. He’s good on the leash and enjoys calm walks — the kind of companion who will happily join you on short outings and then relax at your feet.

Because Frank came to us a bit overweight, our team has started a controlled feeding and activity plan; he’s already made progress, losing 6 pounds since arriving. He also had some teeth removed to help his comfort and overall health. With continued regular vet care and low-impact exercise, we expect him to feel even better.

 Health & care considerations

  •  Senior dog care: regular vet checkups, joint-friendly exercise (short, frequent walks), and a senior-appropriate diet.
  • Weight management: needs portion control and daily, low-impact activity.
  • Dental care: some teeth removed — keep treats and chew toys soft and overseen.

Why adopt Frank?

If you’re looking for a mellow, friendly senior who will reward your patience with steady companionship, Frank could be a perfect match. Seniors often make the best companions: calmer, full of appreciation, and wonderfully attuned to a quiet household routine.
