Description:
Meet Kitty, a charming Black Lab mix (nothing like a person with a sense of humor...). She was found running around the Hunter's Creek area. Kitty loves everyone! This is a very sweet-spirited dog, not too big, just right to fit into your heart.

UPDATE: I am in stitches!!!! I just received an e-mail from Kitty's foster mom. She has made our pup her own myspace page. You have GOT to check this out. Make sure you have your volume on. Go to www.myspace.com/lovefosterpets

And read this wonderful insight from Kitty's foster: "Everything is going so good with Kitty. I'm truly falling for this girl ya know. She is soooo smart. She has "sit" down, we're now working on "shake" and she's getting that just as fast! She likes to "acquire" my sons toys and my shoes; when I correct her she goes right into the kitchen, stays there for a few minutes then comes out and comes right up to me as if saying "I'm sorry, ok show me you still love me" which of course I do!

This past Sunday I kept my bedroom door closed to give the cat some "alone time" since he's still scared of our new girl. Well the rest of the week I left the door open because honestly she has no interest in the cat at all…none! I'm hoping he understands that one day and comes out. Anyway, just by leaving my door closed for that day, she now stays out of my room completely. I mean I really don't know if it is because I had the door closed, or maybe she smells the cat and doesn't like him…I don't know; all I know is she sleeps in the living room and doesn't even come in my room during the day if I'm in there. She also thinks she is a small dog. On the ride home from Petsmart on Friday she curled up in a rather large ball on the front seat. Yesterday I was lying on the loveseat and she come up, curled up by my stomach, made herself fit and fell asleep. She's too funny."

Kitty can be competative with children, so we think she will do better in a home without young kids.

*** How familiar are you with the Labrador Retriever? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
