**Niko is currently in a training program for 12 weeks.  Oct 27, 2023 - Jan 19, 2024**

Niko was surrendered to PRBJ when his family needed to move, and they were not able to take him.  He is almost a year old and is very playful! Niko needs to learn manners and will need an active owner with a fenced yard to play and romp in.
He likes people, but does not like being approached quickly, so we are recommending that he goes into a home that does not have children.
Niko likes other dogs and has been around cats without any issues. He is great on a leash and is crate trained.

Puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog. We highly recommend their new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.

  About Training Camp:
Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.

Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ).

Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family.

We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!
