Description:

8/18 Foster update:  Ava is such a joy to have in our home. She is sweet to everyone she meets and is very active. She loves to play all day and spend hours playing with our foster kitten, Legacy. She is crate trained and loves human interaction.
Her ideal family is:

  • An active, adult home as she is very energetic
  • Owners who work from home/are around most of the day
  • Another playful dog or cat her own size as she is so energetic.        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This sweet little baby was surrendered to PRBJ when her owner stated she did not have enough time for her and was no longer able to financially care for her.  She is loving and a little nervous about new people and situations.

Ava is dog and cat friendly. She is also good with kids; however, due to her size and her being a little nervous about being picked up, it is recommended that she go to an adult-only home to ensure her safety.

She does like to be close to her people and not left alone.  Ava is not a barker... except when someone is at the door.

The long, silky coat of the Havanese is beautiful, but requires regular brushing  and care. If you choose to keep the long coat you will need to dedicate a good amount of time in grooming or money for a groomer to do it.  Another reason to keep it long: if you live in a warm climate, the long coat helps keep your dog cool.
