Update from foster: "Considering she has been tied outside, she is acclimating to inside life quickly. She will tolerate being picked up, but only if done very slowly. This little sweetheart yearns to be loved and to please her human. She has not been a barker inside my home and she makes attempts to play with my dogs"
Hershey was living with a family that kept her tied up outside and concerned neighbors offered to help Hershey.
It is important to remember that at only 10 pounds, Hershey should never be left alone in a yard to prevent any predators from reaching her
.
She is sweet but is quite loud and enjoys barking at even the leaves blowing by. Hershey seems more content with women than she is with men. She is a very sweet dog but she will need a home that is quiet with only 1-2 people. Due to her size and hesitation to be picked up, it is recommended that she go into a home without any kids.
Also, she has been living in a foster home with dogs and cats, and although doing fine, she is more coexisting with them than anything else. As she gains confidence and learns to be more of a puppy, this could change. So a home with a dog that has the same quiet and calm energies would be okay, but it will take time for them to become best friends.
