 *****************************

Ruby found herself at PRBJ after being found on the side of the road.  She was taken to a grooming salon and they reached out to see if we could help. After posting for owners with no luck Ruby is now in search of her forever home.

She is a playful and energetic pup that is looking for an active home. Ruby should not get much bigger and loves being outside playing with the other small dogs. So she would do well in a home with other dogs and kids.

New puppy parents must be dedicated to obedience, socialization, and potty training to ensure the pup grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog.

We highly recommend their new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.

I
nformation on a Whippet :
  • They are very loving, social, and easygoing and can make a fantastic family dog.
  • Whippets are generally eager-to-please and very trainable/intelligent.
  • They seek comfort (like your couch!) and do not like to lie on hard surfaces.
  • Whippets need sufficient exercise or mental stimulation, or they may become destructive. About 30 to 40 minutes of exercise every day is good.
  • Whippets are quiet dogs, not often barking.
  • Whippets shed and benefit from brushing.
  • The prey drive in whippets is often strong and generally not suitable for living with cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small animals.
  • They are known for speed, running short bursts very fast, and jumping lower fences to chase something that catches their attention.
