Description:

Cara and her companion, Buttons, made their way to PRBJ from a highkill shelter.  They were in a home with 17 other Bostons.

Cara is a sweet dog who gets along with dogs and cats but really wants NOTHING to do with them. She will just co-exist with them but can get upset if they try to share your lap because that is where she wants to be.  Cara would be considered a velcro dog because she is stuck to you no matter what you are doing.  If she is asleep in the chair next to you and you get up she will immediately jump and and follow you around.

She is a little skittish with anyone new... if you just try to grab her, she will run off; she is the type you need to wait for her to come to you.  She came in with her name and honestly she does not seem to recognize it so she will not come when called you have to just sit back and wait on her.

Cara gravitates towards one person and will growl if others come towards her and her person. Most of this is just the lack of socialization and her trying to get comfortable with everything and trusting people.

Cara is not really big on being in the backyard alone or with the other dogs. She will not do her business unless you stay out with her and then she immediately wants to go back in.

Cara's ideal home would be with just 1-2 adults, no kids or visiting grandkids and preferably someone who is home all the time like a work-at-home or retired person because she really just wants to spend her time with people.  A home without another dog is probably best because she does not want to play and interact with dogs.

She is crate trained and is quite the jumper.  She can literally jump straight up from the floor to your lap when you are seated at a counter high chair.  So far she has not tried to jump up on the chair when it's empty but she will definitely jump up and if you are eating well she will try to help herself.
