Please note, a fenced backyard is required so she has a safe place to potty and play in. 

Luna Dawn is a sweet little girl that has been through a lot in her short little life. She was originally living with an older lady who had 5 other dogs and Luna did not get the time and attention she deserved.  So, another wonderful lady took Luna in.
  Soon afterwards, her new owner and Luna were attacked by a large dog. Luna was not injured.... thanks to the quick reflexes of her owner.... however, her owner was knocked to the ground and suffered injuries. Now, her owner is nervous about taking Luna for walks, and Luna is also a little nervous about other dogs but once she knows it is safe and that her owner is not afraid she begins to warm up.
  The injuries and fear resulting from the dog attack has made her 2nd owner feel it is best for to rehome Luna:(
So, this sweet girl is once again, searching for her furever home. Understandably, she is timid and scared and needs time to get to know and trust new people and animals. She will run away from anyone she does not know well and will not come to those she does not know. She has proven this while in her foster home when other members of the family try to get her in from outside or try to pick her up. Her trust circle is small, and you must be patient with her.  With this in mind, we recommended a home with a fenced yard to safely play and potty in and a quiet, adult only home with no kids/visiting grandkids.
   Luna  is very sweet and loving once she warms up. She is playful and likes toys. Her favorite snack is an apple. She loves having a crate and little bed inside where she can go into whenever she wants so she can feel safe and have her own space.
   Luna's ideal home is with an active owner/s who are home with her much of the day and allow her to be a lap dog. She desperately just wants to feel safe in her owners arms. She would be fine as the only dog or with a submissive dog her own size.
   ShihTzus by nature, are sweet and devoted to their people. They do not require much activity, but do love their walks and time outside...especially if their humans are with them!
   They require owners diligent in maintaining regular 6 week grooming appointments and monitoring of their eyes as they are prone to ingrown eyelashes...keeping hair short around their faces helps prevent this:).
