Our beautiful, friendly and super sweet Monty is an active dog that enjoys running in a backyard and playing. He is in the herding dog classification.  Unfortunately, his owner was moving into a dorm and with work and school, there was no time or yard for Monty :(

  Monty has had training classes and knows basic commands. He w ould do best in an active home with older kids (f there are children in the home) and a fenced yard. Because he is very energetic and can jump a lower fence, a 6-foot fence is recommended to keep him safe.   Do you need a hiking or jogging buddy?   Monty may be your boy!

  Although he has had basic training, he will need leash training as he is quite strong and will pull while on walks.

  Australian Shepherds are active dogs that need to be kept busy. They need an owner who wants to spend time doing activities with them.
 
  They need weekly brushing with a bristle brush and bathing occasionally as needed will keep their coats nice and help prevent matting which can lead to skin infections.
