Little Jesper was surrendered to PRBJ by a young couple that was told by their landlord that they could not have the puppy in the townhouse. This sweet little hound loves to play and will howl when he needs something especially to go out to go potty. He is almost potty trained at less than 3 month. This little beagle is as smart as he is handsome.
His new parents will need to be dedicated to obedience, and socialization, and continue with potty training to ensure he grows up to be a happy and well-adjusted dog.
We highly recommend his new family attend puppy training classes. Training classes are the most successful when everyone in the family attends so you all learn about your new puppy.
Hound puppies are lovable and social animals who love to be around their humans and go on adventures:) Hounds need a lot of exercise as they are generally working dogs who love to use their noses. If not given ample exercise, they tend to take out their frustration on your furniture and shoes.

1/27 foster update:
JESPER is such a sweet boy! He is doing well in our home with our dogs and kids. All puppies are born with worms which are treated with a series of dewormer medications. Poor JESPER also has hookworms, which he contracted through birth or another dog's stool.
Owners should avoid direct contact with his stool as hooks are easily transferrable to people and other pets through direct contact with their feces. For the next month or two, owners should be diligent to pick up after him right after he goes as this will help ensure other pets and people in the home do not come into contact with/ingest the hookworms. This has been easy for us as JESPER goes potty in one spot, so we can quickly remove his poop before the other dogs come investigate.
We suggest wearing disposable gloves as easy way to pick up poop and protect against hooks. A fecal test is recommended in a month and further deworming medication given, per vet direction.
