Dot and her siblings came to PRBJ after a high kill shelter reached out to see if we could assist in getting these little babies their forever homes.

*Kittens are like human babies and need lots of time and care.  They are very energetic and will need a family that has time to spend playing and loving them.  Kittens are naturally curious and playful which means they will get into messes so kitten-proofing your home is a good idea to help them safe.

**Playing with your kitten and introducing him/her to new people and situations is key to socialization.  This takes lots of time and energy.  Even though kittens are small they can ver quite rough when playing.  In order to prevent bites or scratches you should always use toys when playing with your kitten otherwise they may see you as the toy.

***To become a well-behaved and happy ca t , kittens will need socialization. Unless you want an aloof and reclusive cat or one that is desperate for attention, it’s probably not a great idea to adopt a single kitten and leave it alone while you go to work all day. In order to prevent loneliness, and the bad behavior that often accompanies a single kitten, many places will encourage you to adopt two kittens. Furthermore, training is often easier with two kittens because they learn from each other. One learns from the other’s mistakes and rewarded behavior.
