Socks is an energetic, active and playful dog that loves people. Socks is also a little scared of new things especially the dark when he is unable to see what is going on.  Socks would do well with another doggie friend he can play with.

He is the perfect size to have as a lap dog. While he is learning to love his walks, he would really love a home with a yard to run and play in. Socks needs an active owner who can spend lots of time playing with him.

01/06/2022:  We took Socks in the cat room, and he seemed fine with the cats.  As dogs and cats often act differently in a home environment, owners with a kitty should monitor interactions to ensure dog and cat assimilate happily.


Chihuahuas are lively, loyal, intelligent, spunky, playful and friendly dogs. They burrow under blankets, dance on their hind legs, wave their paws in the air, and lick everything in sight!  Most Chihuahuas need little obedience training.  Chihuahuas need to learn where to go to the bathroom, and where not to go – and this can  be  the biggest training challenge in this breed. 

PRBJ got a call from Hernando County asking for help in saving 29 small dogs who were living in a hoarding situation.  The owners were being evicted, and the dogs had nowhere to go.  Judy and the team didn’t hesitate to go help these poor babies, and the 29 Chihuahua mixes were rescued and brought back to PRBJ.
