Foster Update: April 1st, 2022

We have been fostering Ozzy for four months and he is doing well in our home. He is house trained, loves going for walks and sleeps through the night. He needs to be in a home where he can be active and  without  kids.  He does good with other small dogs.

Ozzy will need an adopter that will give him lots of time to settle into their home and gain trust. He could use an experienced adopter who will give him structure so he can thrive. We hope his new family will continue his training  to reduce barking at people in the yard and bikes/joggers while walking. Patience and watching his cues will give him the time he needs to adjust to your home and routine.

Ozzy would make a great companion dog for someone that is more active and loves to play tug of war with toys, takes him to the small dog park and likes a dog that will lay and sleep with them. He does not like to be crated, so we leave him free in our home when we are gone, and he does great.

He really is a love; he just needs someone who will be committed to devoting the needed time and patience to him. Once he knows he can trust you, you will be well rewarded with so much love. If you feel you can be that person, please put an application in for him. Thank you.

11/15/2021 Ozzy was adopted and then, unfortunately, returned to us before he went into foster care. He was sleeping soundly and then was startled awake and nipped at his owner. She became afraid of him and did not want him anymore. Since then, he has been in a foster home with no incidents like this at all. We honestly think this was an isolated incident where he was simply spooked and reacted to protect himself.
