Note from foster:
Gunner is the definition of a love bug. As soon as he got to his foster home he went straight to exploring. It seems like he has not had much experience being indoors as he was absolutely in shock and in love when he discovered the couch. He made quick friends with his new foster siblings, both k9 and feline. He is a gentle boy who does great with kids as well. He suprised us by showing us how great he is at not having accidents inside and being completely potty trained. His all-time favorite thing in the world is cuddling. He throws himself on top of you and just takes in as much love as he can and gives just as much back. Gunner is a dream dog and would make any family the luckiest in the world.

Gunner came to PRBJ via a local kill shelter. Gunner is such a good boy. He loves to be held and loves to snuggle. He is good with people and with other dogs. He CANNOT be left alone outside in a fenced yard because he will try to escape if he gets bored.

Gunner is Heartworm Positive,  but please do not let this deter you from adopting this wonderful dog. PRBJ uses the slow kill method to treat heartworms and this has been extremely effective for us. We give the affected dog a strong antibiotic for 30 days (if you adopt within those 30 days we will provide you with the medicine). After those 30 days, Gunner just needs his regular monthly heartworm preventative. This method takes about 12-18 months to be fully effective but it does not harm the animals in any way.
