Description:

Chubbs came to us as an owner surrender, who loved him greatly, but due to him not being the best with her children they had to give him up. With this being said if there are children in his new household they must be older than twelve. Chubbs loves to play with balls and will play fetch as long as you will let him. He is very smart and makes eye contact with you when you ask him to do commands like sit and paw. He gets very excited at meal time and must be left alone when he is eating (at times he becomes protective of his food).

important :  Border collies should not be left alone for long periods of time or all day. If you're leaving your home then your collie should have someone visit them if you're gone for more than a few hours. Unlike other breeds, border collies can develop isolation distress and separation anxiety easily resulting in destructive behavior and anxiety.Owners should have extensive dog-owning experience prior to adopting a Border Collie. Obedience training skills are also highly recommended, as is the ability to be a firm yet fair disciplinarian. A Border Collie owner's physical activity level should be very high as these dogs require lots of daily (every single day) exercise to remain healthy, happy and content.

This breed can be a challenge to those who underestimate their need for exercise and training.
