FOSTER UPDATE February 19:

Leo and Joy are both unique and we are having a blast with them as fosters.  Leo likes to run around the backyard quite a bit.  He and our chihuahua Neeo go chasing each other and chasing squirrels and even chasing the neighbors’ cats.  Joy seems a little anxious and tentative, more so in the mornings as though she's having to be reminded who each of the humans are daily.  They have been through a lot as their owner recently passed away and they are trying to adjust to being in a new environment and meeting new humans and dogs.  By mid-morning, Joy seems to remember who everybody is and gets along well with the humans and the dogs.  A few bullets below and we will be adding bullets as revelation comes to light.   

·       Joy likes broccoli.

·       Joy is a picky eater and we have been informed that she and Leo both used to eat quite a bit of human food.

·       Leo will eat just about anything and is a bit food aggressive.

·       During the day, both dogs recline in their crate that is within my home office. They are quiet and considerate coworkers and very seldom make any noise or disturb my work activities.

·       Leo is a lover. He will jump up to get your attention in hopes that you will hold him in your arms and simply snuggle and pet on him.

·       Leo is high energy, but also can be very calm and content to be a lap dog.

·       Both dogs will continue to need additional leash training until they get the hang of it.

·       Both dogs get along surprisingly well with Neeo and Peenut, our two grumpy old men.

·       Both dogs do very well with our grandsons, age 2 and 4 months.

·       Like Neeo, Leo likes to roll in poop.

·       They, or at least one of them, we can't tell for sure, are not as potty trained as we would have expected.  They don’t poop inside, but pee inside on occasion, about once a day up to this point. 

·       Leo and Joy will play with each other and Leo will start the play time with Neeo, but Joy does not initiate play with anybody except Leo.

·       If you say, “Go to jail”, both dogs will enter the crate with no resistance.  So stinking cute. 

·       Leo likes his stuffed animal toys.  He now has a duck and a penguin, a huge duck, and a little puppy that he likes to carry around the house in his mouth.  The other dogs are not fans of toys.  Leo is very gentle with these toys and does not chew at or pull them apart. 

We have large birds and ducks in our neighborhood.  They are not bothered by nor are they aggressive toward these creatures.  

THEY NEED TO EAT SEPARATELY BECAUSE JOY LOVES HER FOOD

We tried to keep dogs apart for a few hours and they cried for each other. These sweeties need be adopted together as they are very bonded.
