Mabel came to PRBJ from a high kill shelter.   She is a sweet dog that just craves human companionship and affection.

Mabel loves to go on walks, and will need an owner that can take her out and keep her from other dogs.  Mabel needs someone that can take her for walks and play in the yard to help her keep her weight down.  Mabel loves food and is food motivated so she will need an owner that can say no to her pouty eyes when she asks for more food.

Mabel has had some surgery to remove a tumor on her mammary gland and surgical repair of palate and trachea issues.   She is absolutely fine now and just needs to never have anything or anyone placing pressure on her neck.  If there are children in the home, they should be older as little children understandably want to hug dogs around the neck. When playing she may make a little raspy noise, almost like growling.

Due to her medical history and age, she needs a quieter, low key home where she can play a little and be loved on a lot.   She will need a fenced backyard in which to play.   She does have beginning cataracts, which is totally normal in senior dogs.
