He is not 100% house trained yet. He does the typical walking in circles and you must rush him outside. I ask him often, and he will go outside if prompted. I offer good praise and even treats to get him used to asking to go out.
He loves to be in our backyard! Sometimes we have to shake the treat bag to bribe him to come inside. A fenced backyard would be ideal for him so he could stay out an play and play and play:)
He does like to go for walks but does pull a bit and tries to eat everything he finds on the walk (mulch, rocks, trash and even will bit a mouth full of leave or weeds and even other dog poo). He is on a harness and wears sweaters.
He is crate trained and sleeps there at night since he is not fully house-trained and still likes to chew things. He does not bark in his crate unless he hears us and the other dogs moving around.
He is very playful with people and our dogs. He nips a lot when he plays with my Bulldogs, but that is how they play with each other. Brody will play bite at our hands and face, and we have been working with him to curb this. He has gotten better, but it takes consistency.
He LOVES food and treats. His food is limited to grain-free and only fish or plant protein due to his skin. I have him on Canidae small breed puppy food (limited ingredients - salmon) and his treats are Zuke's puppy naturals (salmon and chickpea recipe). He is going to need to be on a quality food due to skin allergies. I also give him cucumbers, bell peppers, bananas, apples, blueberries, sweet potato, carrot, and boiled potato. He is very food motivated and has been learning to ‘sit,’ but gets excited to "grab" the treat quick because he does not want to sit long. We are working on taking it easy.
He has lots of energy as puppies do and wants to play vs be a lap dog. He is a chewer and will need toys lots of them. He likes the crinkle sounding ones, but of course, you have to keep an eye because he will tear it apart and eat all he can. We give him toys that are for tough chewers since he is still a puppy, but also since our dogs are such strong chewers we need to make sure all toys are safe here.
He is very sweet, and once he calms down, he loves to just cuddle. New owners should continue puppy potty manners training so he grows into the best adult dog he can be
