This poor baby was definitely mistreated, and was not cared for at all. We named her Persephone, The Greek Goddess of Spring. It is quite evident that she has had babies. Persephone was found as a stray in horrible condition. She was underweight, covered in sores. Please view photo's below:(  As sad as it is to view, these photos show the condition some of the dogs/cats come to us.  Some animals arrive in even worse condition, if you can imagine that.   
Persephone is very friendly to people and other animals.  By law, we had to notify all the proper authorities and we posted that we have found her.

Our lovable Persephone i s  Heartworm Positive,  but please do not let that stop you from welcoming this beautiful, sweet girl into your family.   She is undergoing treatment for the heart worms.  This treatment usually takes about six months to fully work.  She is not showing any symptoms of having heart worm disease, so that sho ws us that she appears healthy and strong!
