Dog 4 a Day Update:  

I took Sheila out for the weekend; we went very primitive camping. She did an amazing job, and she loved every minute of it. She was well behaved and after a brief hesitation of meeting my camping partners she quickly fell in love with them as well.

She was wonderful for the entire trip, she was a perfect lady in the car, she just looked out the window contently. She loved being outside and sitting by the campfire, she would come up and lay by each one of us, and ask to be loved on.

At night, she slept in the sleeping back with me under the stars. She really enjoyed cuddling, and was a champ at it. She also kept a very close guard on the camp and would let us know if anyone or any animal was approaching.

All and all she did a great job. I hated having to bring her back. She is going to make someone an amazing loyal and loving dog. She is an ideal dog for someone who is looking for a dedicated and loyal companion to take on outdoor adventures.

My name is Sheila, and I am just a sweet girl, looking for love.  The best setting for me is a low traffic household with a single person or a couple who can give me lots of attention and activity.  I love to go on nice long walks, so if you want company on a run I am your girl!!! I prefer to be the only pet as I would like to have all your love and attention. As far as other dogs, I am not a fan of other female dogs, but I do play well with the calm, male dogs here at the center. I am not a big cat fan either, sorry! Also, a s I can jump a pretty high fence, please take me on walks or hang out with me while I am outside in the yard:) I love, love, love car rides and will in sit in the backseat and just look around! I am 100% housetrained, well mannered, and have so much love to give.  
 

Sheila is heartworm positive but that should not prevent her from finding her forever home.  At the time of adoption, you will be supplied with literature regarding our slow kill method. Any questions regarding heartworms please call us. We also recommend that if you are not familiar with heartworm to speak to your veterinarian about the slow kill method. 

UPDATE 3/30/20: AFTER BEING TREATED WITH THE SLOW KILL METHOD, SHEILA IS NOW HEARTWORM NEGATIVE!!!!!!
