Description:

Lil Abby is going to make a great companion!   Once she feels secure in her surroundings she is full of kisses, wiggles, wagging and bouncing!    She did take about a week to acclimate to her foster home and mom.    She needs time and patience and since she is food motivated, feeding her by hand for a couple of days went a long way to gaining her trust!    She is cautious with other dogs at first and does not like them in her face.   We have multiple dogs (all sizes) and she has gradually gotten used to them.    She loves squeaky toys, especially the soft ones.   Her crate is her "safe place" and she spends a large portion of her day in it.    I'm sure that will change as time passes and she gains confidence.    She is housetrained but once in awhile pees out of anxiety or excitement.   She does know to use pee pads as we have her in a large crate and have one at one end of it.   The first few days she did not want to come out of the crate and knew to use the pee pad.     I would not recommend having her off leash (inside or out) at this time.   In the house she will hide and outside I think she would run and be extremely difficult to catch.   This is due to fear.   Again, time and patience will help with this.      She is bouncy on leash which is partly why I think she has some Jack Russell in her.

She can run so fast and jump quite high (and bounce) and has lots of energy.   I think that she would make an excellent agility dog or enjoy lure chasing!

Please e-mail with any questions and her foster mom will be happy to further discuss Abby's behaviors and personality.    I would not recommend her with children at this time due to her fear.   She does not like to be "grabbed" and slow movements are best.   Again, I am sure this will all change as she gains confidence but at this time, no.    It took her a week to start trusting me (foster mom) and she still is not sure about other household members.   Snausages are a good friend maker with her though, haha!    She can be a bit of a barker at times so probably is not apartment appropriate.
