Description:

Rayna is such a sweet girl! She was rescued from a kill shelter with her 6 beautiful babies. She is such a sweet, affectionate, loving dog. She just begs to be petted and loved. She would definitely be a lap dog if she was smaller. She loves to play with toys. When she first came in, she was skin and bones! She was so, so hungry and was so excited for a full bowl of food and a nice soft bed.  We gave her a stuffed dog toy and she was nursing on it. She is a baby who has already had babies. She has gained a little weight,is spayed. vaccinated, microchipped and is ready for her fur-ever home!

March 2019 Dog for a Day Update:
Rayna was great! When we first picked her up, she was a little excited; but once she wore off some energy, she was pretty relaxed and well behaved. We took her to a park where she walked very well on a leash and didn't really react to cars or other animals. She was very friendly and sweet to people when they approached her! We took her to the historic district of Sanford to grab some food, and she was a very good girl while we walked through the busy streets. She basically just took a nap while we ate, but she made sure to say hi to the waiters when they walked by. Overall, her behavior was fantastic: she was friendly, relaxed, and well behaved. If I lived in a pet friendly community, I would have adopted her!

Foster Update 1/2019:
Rayna has been an incredible companion for the time we have had her. Rayna is a very gentle giant who loves to show affection to everyone she encounters. She has been sharing the household with a 20lb Miniature Schnauzer-whom she enjoys to love on and play with. Rayna loves to cuddle and be lazy as much as she loves being outdoorsy. She enjoys sun bathing on warm days and snuggling on cold days. She is incredible on a leash; we’ve taken Rayna on runs and on hikes and she loved them. Rayna has also been with us while hosting numerous get- togethers in our house (with over 20 people in attendance), and Rayna embraces it by becoming a lap dog on everyone. Rayna loves attention and most importantly she loves head scratches. Rayna is big lovebug that deserves a loving forever home!

Rayna is command trained, and knows the following commands: Her name, Sit, Stay, Leave it, Come, “will also come when you whistle for her” No, and Off. Rayna is also tone trained. She knows difference between "Rayna" and "RAYNA!"

November 2018 Dog 4 a Day UPDATE!: Rayna is so easy going! She jumped right into my car with no problems and even fell asleep when I was driving! She would make a good road trip buddy. We visited two pet stores where she loved on all of the people she met. She even picked out her own treat from the store and laid down and started chewing on it right in the aisle! It was super cute. We also went to Starbucks where she got a yummy puppaccino to enjoy while I sipped on my holiday drink. And for our final adventure we went to two different local parks / walking trails. We really enjoyed walking around together and watching everyone else at the park. She walks very nicely on the leash and listens to commands. And boy is she a “lap” dog! That was probably my favorite part, sitting down and having her cuddle right in my lap with me and giving me kisses! She is such a love bug and would be a perfect companion to her forever family :-)
