DOG 4 A DAY UPDATE:

We took Lottery to our home for the day. He has lots of puppy energy and loved to play fetch with a ball. He's a very smart little guy. It was great watching him try to figure out solutions or work arounds for different obstacles throughout the day. He did dig into an ant pile and lay in it. So we had to rush and put him in the pool to get the ants off.

He loved playing at the fence line with the 2 neighbors' dogs adjoining us. He would probably be best with younger dogs. My dog is about 13 or 14 yrs old and just can't match his energy. He loves toys and sticks and we had a great time inside while it rained playing with him. We put lavender oil on his ant bites and the itching stopped and he mellowed out and took a nap in our bed snuggled up between my husband and me. He's a perfect little snuggle bug.

Our niece and nephew came over and the 5 yr old nephew who is typically scared of dogs LOVED HIM. He is great with kids.

He's is a great boy in need of love and discipline. He knows the command sit.  And would be a great addition to any family.

Judy was going into a 7/11 store to buy a lottery ticket and ended up with a puppy! A woman outside the store gave it to her after not being able to care for it anymore. The puppy came out winning the lottery that day! Lottery is a sweet little playful lovebug. If you are interest in Lottery please put an adoption application in. You will then be assigned a screener to review your application. All correspondence will be done through email.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER:

Lottery is a wonderful bundle of mischievous puppy love!  He will snuggle up with you at night and zip around the house like a curious lightning bolt in the morning.  You can’t help but fall in love with this guy.  When he goes outside, he follows so closely next to you that he keeps bumping your leg with his cold nose.  If you stand still, he sits at your feet and gazes up adoringly.  There’s no way to resist reaching down to give him and hug and kiss! But you also want to tell him, go! Go, pee!  But he won’t, so you walk around the yard with him following you until nature calls.  That’s when we humans in the family shake our heads and say, “that little rascal!”  Rascal behavior is mildly annoying, but also makes you need to hug and kiss this puppy!  When he’s finally exploring the yard on his own, he sometimes stops, suddenly still, pounce position, and then darts forward at something I don’t see.  The first few times I thought he’d cornered some wildlife, and I would have to intervene, but it’s always the same thing.  He’s found his abandoned tennis ball in the grass!  He comes running back to me with the ball in his mouth, then veers off at the last minute before I can grab it.  He stops just out of reach and tosses the ball up in the air with his mouth and then darts after it when it bounces around.  Finally, he’ll get bored and bring it to me to throw, but only if I feign disinterest.  The minute I reach for the ball, he veers off.  Keep away is always more fun than fetch, apparently.  That little rascal!

Lottery is crate trained.  Goes in his crate on command and doesn’t mess in the crate.  He does whine or bark in the crate sometimes.  He is hard to resist, and quick to learn, so when he whines or barks and someone gives him a cookie or takes him out, he learns this response, and next time barks longer.  We have given in and just let him sleep in our daughter’s bed now.  This guy is so adorable and charming—he either needs a family where he’s going to be in bed and on the couch with you all the time, or you have to have nerves of steel to tell him “no” and mean it.  When he’s excited, he runs the rounds in the house.  He bounds over and up on to the couch to lick my husband’s face while he’s watching TV, visits my son in his room—jumping up on his lap while he does homework on the computer, then visits my daughter who is reclined on a big papasan chair.  And he does all this visiting in about a minute—jump up, wiggle, wiggle, lick, then gone to the next person.  And then he’ll run circles around the house, just totally excited by life.

He is teething, so he tears up his toys with great glee.  He can play all alone, throwing the toy up with his mouth and pouncing on it when it comes down, tearing and shaking it.  He loves squeaky toys, and will squeak them over and over, all by himself.  Eventually, he tears it up and gets the squeaker out, and we have to take it away so he doesn’t choke.  He does have a big rubber bone that he chews on and doesn’t decimate—but he doesn’t love it nearly as much as the soft plush toys or squeakers.  He also tries to chew on your fingers.  He will stop immediately and look contrite if you make a loud high-pitched noise.  I did this a few times, and he no longer bites me.  But the kids (my teenagers) feel sorry for him, and think he is sad or afraid when you correct him, and so they are still struggling with his sharp little teeth.  Once again, it comes down to how firm you can stand to be with this little lovebug.

He is not always hyper active and does love to snuggle up and watch tv or let you read your book.  But only as long as he can be there right next to you.  He’s a big fan of belly rubs and body warmth.  He likes to be right on you.  He’ll make a great companion for some lucky human!
