Minnie's ideal home would have another dog that would boost her confidence and make her come out of her shell. She is shy and will feel a lot better to have another dog to look up to :)
FOSTER UPDATE January 2018
Minnie is such a sweetheart. She is a beautiful, happy, friendly dog. She does need time to "warm up" to new people. Once she does, you will get kisses and nudges until you pay her attention! She loves to be petted and she does play ball. She will give the ball back when asked! She will chew on blankets and towels. She will also chew on and unstuff dog beds. She needs supervising with these items so that she is not swallowing them. She seldom barks. She has lots of energy and loves to play. What are you waiting for? She is a great dog and would love to find her furever home! She is still very puppyish and I would recommend older kids only.
FOSTER UPDATE 11/2017
We have been fostering Minnie for about 10 days now. When we picked her up, it was from the vet, as she had to have one of her back legs amputated. (So no stairs at her new home, please!) Apparently she had an old break which unfortunately snapped again one day. From the moment we picked her up, she has been sweet and full of kisses. She loves to lay on her back, she loves bones and she loves attention. She can be a bit shy with people at first and loud noises sometimes scare her. She sleeps on a comforter on the floor by our bed at night but I think she would love to be on our bed instead! We have 5 other foster dogs, big and small, and she is friendly to all. Sometimes she does not understand their "personal space" and they let her know, but she is learning. She is definitely what I would call a "power chewer". She can make serious marks in a nylabone so kongs or marrow bones are best. She is also still interested in things like shoes, nightlights or pretty much anything in front of her. If she wants to chew and does not have something she needs to be supervised! She is an amazing, smart dog and deserves a loving home for the rest of her life!
Minnie and sibling Micky were pulled from a high kill shelter. We were told by the shelter that they are shy, but very gentle and love attention. They do need some training with walking on a leash. They are both crate trained and like the company of other dogs. Minnie gets a lots of confidence by having another dog around and would love a canine buddy in her new home:)
