Chiva is a sweet, energetic Border Collie. If you know Border Collies, you know that are like labradors ~ they maintain their puppyhood throughout their lives! Chiva is loving and playful with adults, kids and dogs. She is wonderful in a car. She really is a doll!

Chiva is looking for a new home because her owner recently passed away. Isn't that heartbreaking? Right now she is living an a neighbors screened-in porch. Golly, I hope they have a heater!

This pumpkin suffers from flea allergires ~ well gosh, who wouldn't! She needs be kept on flea prevention so it doesn't reoccur. With that, she is just down right perfect.

One of the things that cracks me up is her owner thought she hated cats. Would you believe the neighbor caring for her has cats and Chiva took one sniff and walked off! Snicker.... But, don't be danglin' any squirrels in front of her. She'll try to climb a tree to get it. In fact, she has! Did I mention that she's a Border Collie? Yeah, that's what they do!!!!

So Chiva is a wonderful dog, highly energetic, highly loving. What more can you ask for?

This breed should be very well socialized as a puppy to prevent shyness. To be truly happy, it needs a lot of: ongoing attention, extensive daily exercise, and a job to do. For those who wish to reach high levels in dog sports, the Border Collie is a gift from heaven. Farmers (for whom the dogs perform work for which they were bred) are also happy with them. It is not surprising that at competitive levels in various sports such as: agility skills, obedience, and sheepdog trials, the Border Collie is represented among the leaders in the sport. They are perfectionist with a permanent will to please. This breed lives for serving you day in and day out. They are not ideal pets for people who have no plans to spend a lot of time with them. These dogs are too intelligent to lie around the house all day with nothing to do. Prospective owners who are looking for just a family pet should consider other similar but calmer breeds, like show line Australian Shepherds and Shetland Sheepdogs.
