We keep asking ourselves "WHY IS HARRY STILL AT THE SHELTER"   Harry is so sweet and has great reviews.   Please fill out an application and try him for Dog 4 a Day.  You won't regret it.   He would make a great family pet.

July 15, 2017 update (pictures below):

We took Harry out for Dog 4 a Day on Saturday (7/15). He was so well behaved and could not stop smiling. We walked around downtown Sanford, and he is SO good around other dogs. He didn't bark or growl or even get fazed by the dogs of all sizes we passed, and everyone loved his goofy smile as we all tried to stay cool in the heat! He's great in cars too; he enjoys laying in the back seat. Harry would be a wonderful dog for any family or person!

07/14/17 Dog 4 a Day update (make sure to scroll down for pictures) :  I took Harry out for the day today, and he did amazingly well! Others have commented on how he can be a little rambunctious and hard to handle, which is true- he has lots of energy and is a strong dog (he is a big dog, after all). But as a 19 year old girl, I had no problem handling him. He tugs quite a bit when excited but he will listen. Harry is super friendly and sweet, I fell in love instantly! We took him to the dog beach for a few hours and he did great! PRBJ wasn't quite sure how he'd be in public around other dogs and people, but he kept to himself and when a couple approached us wanting to pet him, he was very calm and sweet towards the strangers. They even commented on how well-behaved he was. He didn't seem to like to swim, but he loved playing in the water, running and biting the waves. He LOVED to roll around in the sand and run around on the beach (as much as he could on a leash). He does great in the car, sticking to the back seat and laid down most of the time. He's a very happy dog who slobbers a lot when he's excited. When he gets cranked up, he will jump and play bite (a little harder than he realizes sometimes). I think he still has some puppy in him. But he listened well when I would tell him to calm down. Throughout just one day with Harry, he was becoming more and more well behaved. He is definitely trainable and loves to please. Overall, Harry is a very sweet boy with lots of energy. I think with a little time to train (mostly on the leash). I can tell he is very loyal and would be a good guard dog, but he showed no signs of being too over-protective today. But mostly, he needs a family who has the time to take him for walks and play with him because he has A LOT of energy. I can't believe he wasn't snatched up the second he got to PRBJ! I would adopt him in a heart beat if I were looking to adopt.

04/22/2017:  Harry went out for Dog 4 A Day and here is what Vanessa had to say, also, please look at her photo's below.

I took Harry for dog 4 a day on April 11th and he is sweetest boy. He is very affectionate and likes cuddling even if it's just putting his paws on you. He was really good in the car and at one point fell asleep but he enjoyed looking out the window and sat mostly in the back. He is a really strong dog so I would recommend a family who has had big dogs before. He is such a gorgeous dog, his black coat shines in the sun and he is very good at giving the puppy eyes. All he needs is a little patience and a lot of love

Harry was pulled from a high kill shelter. He is very sweet, loving, and wants lots of attention!! He gets along with other dogs and loves to play in the backyard. He does like to play hard with other dogs, so would pair best with a dog who does mind that kind of play. He would benefit from being in an active family so he can get the exercise he needs. He appears to be housetrained and he walks very well on a leash.
