Description: Ringo is an absolutely delightful Puggle, a very popular designer breed, cross between a Pug and a Beagle. Unfortunately he was adopted by someone with a two year old daughter. Like a lot of folks, they thought it would be a good idea to have a puppy for their child to grow up with. Yeah, that doesn't work out far too often. Anyway, they've done a great job providing us with an honest assessment of Ringo.
" We took on more that I can handle right now. I have a 2 year old and I thought I could devote my time both to my daughter and the dog and have proven myself wrong. I don't have the time to spend with Ringo both for training or for giving him the attention he deserves. Ringo is all up to date in his shots and is on Heart Guard and Advantage. The Vet told us back in June that Ringo was about a year old. For not knowing Ringo's background, he has been very, very good with my daughter who is now 2 1/2 years old. My daughter has bothered him while he eats and has pulled his eyelids up while he tries to sleep. I have not had him around many other children, occassionally while babysitting for a 4 year old and he did fine. In the beginning we kept Ringo in a crate at night and while we were gone out of the house but now we leave him out all the time and he is fine. Ringo is a very energetic and strong dog, about 28 lbs. and he will require a lot of attention and playtime, he does play a little aggressive, sometimes play biting but has never bitten us. Ringo has a bad habit of jumping up on people when he first sees them, like when you come home from work. He also likes to jump up and put his paws on the table or counter to see what kind of goodies might be there and has a habit of trying to get into the trash, luckily we have one with a lid. Ringo has only been around a few dogs and they were for very short visits, he did not fight and wasn't aggressive but he did play aggressively with them. Jackie's daughter took Ringo to a friends who had cats and said he did NOT get along with the cats and that he wouldn't do well in a home with cats. Ringo wants to be a lap dog but is not allowed on the furniture but he doesn't listen and is always jumping up on the furniture, he loves to sit in the front window and look outside. I think that if allowed, he would love to just snuggle with you and would even sleep in the bed with you but like I said, he isn't allowed, my husband doesn't like him up on the furniture. I think he needs a home with someone that had the time to play a lot and give him lots of exercise, maybe a home with boys who can rough house with him. All I know is that he needs a family who can spend more quality time with him and love him like he deserves."
According to www.puggle.org, the Puggle is a small mixed breed of dog created by mating a pug and beagle, thereby producing an energetic hound having a thickset body, a short-haired, smooth coat of fawn, tan, and black coloring, a deeply wrinkled forehead, short legs, a curled tail, and drooping ears. Their coat consists of short hairs. Puggles come in a wide range of colors. Fawn/Tan puggles are the most common, but some are black, white, or tri-colored. Second generation puggles take on more of the white and tan or black, tan, and white coloring. Puggles are sweet-tempered, playful, energetic, intelligent, social, and affectionate. A puggle is a great companion. They are also very curious dogs. They get along well with children, other dogs, and other household pets. Puggles are very friendly and like to show you. They have a good amount of energy and love to play. They enjoy going on walks and running around. Puggles also love their downtime. They love to cuddle up to you on the couch or in bed.
