This cute little senior we named Jet Blu was found stranded on the road. He is a sweet little dog that would love to just to have a lap to rest on. He is crate trained, but all he needs is a soft bed and someone to love him and keep him safe...Please consider adopting him.
Foster Update 7.27.16: Jet was groomed last week and looks so cute! He is much more comfortable and much less itchy. His skin is much better between that and his itch medication, which he takes once daily. He is so smart and loves to be where his people are. We crate him at mealtime (both his and ours!) and he settles right into the crate. He is loose in the house at night and have not had any issues. We are still giving him an extra meal each day, so he gets 3 meals. Once in a while he can get a little yappy, usually if he is worried about something or thinks he hears something, such as thunder. One other thing he discovered was that he could squeeze through an area of our picket fence. Luckily we have a double fenced yard and with a bit of adjustment of the picket, he has not been able to do that again, but just a warning that he is a tiny little guy and has to be watched at all times out in the yard.
Foster update 7.12.16 : Jet Blu had a check up at the vet today. He has gained 1/2 a pound! They were quite pleased about that. He is taking a medication for his itching and has been diagnosed with dry eye. He will be on eye meds for the rest of his life. Currently he is on 1 eye drop and 2 ointments. He is a busy little guy and loves to know what is going on all the time. He also thinks he is the boss of all the dogs in the house, big and small. He does like to cuddle at times and other times he is just too busy to sit still! He walks nicely on the leash and listens well in the yard.
Foster update 6.20.16: Jet's photos do not do him justice. He is very difficult to photograph with his all dark hair and eyes! He is adorable and really does love soft beds. He only marked in the house once this past week so has made a lot of progress in that area! I'm sure being neutered helped with that. He is loose in the house at night - pretty much once he has his dinner and water, he is ready to snooze! He is so smart and learns quickly. According to the vet, he does have allergies and is currently taking 1/4 Benadryl twice daily, as well as needing medicated baths once weekly (any shampoo with Chlorhexadine in it). He will need to be groomed regularly.
Foster update 6.12.16: We have had Jet for just under a week. He is very underweight and is being fed multiple small meals daily. He does have a sensitive stomach and is on a special diet at this time. He marked in the house a few times but is doing it less often. He listens very well. He loves all the dog beds in our house. He has gotten a bit territorial a couple of times over a bed or a bone but we have been working on that and I think he was feeling better after his neuter and trying to establish his "position" in the household among our other 4 dogs. We do not feed him by the other dogs to avoid any potential problems.
