If you have lost a pet:
  • Walk your neighborhood, knock on doors, hand out flyers with pictures
  • Talk to kids, mailmen, local vet's offices and other service people in the area
  • If the pet exited a window, leave it open -- it may return
  • Put out some food -- hungry pets follow their stomachs and noses
  • Take out a classified ad with the Orlando Sentineland/, including a description and the area where the pet was lost
  • Contact Animal Control a couple times a week, preferably in person

If you have found a pet:

  • Take the pet to your local vet's office or animal services to have it scanned for a microchip and to notify them that you have found somebody's pet in case they call looking for it
  • Place a collar on it with a note asking the owner to contact you -- it may not be lost but just a pet that is allowed to roam
  • Take out a classified ad with the Orlando Sentineland/or, including a vague description (species, size and color) and the area where the pet was found
  • If you are unsuccessful in finding the pet's owner and are unable to keep the animal, contact a rescue organization in your area
  • If you are able to foster the pet until adoption and would like us to list the animal on our website, please fill out a Foster Application online
