Animal Success Stories

Second only to finding homes for our animals is the joy of hearing back from their new families.  We invite you to read along with us.  If you should decide to open up your heart and home to one of our angels, please send us a note and photo to tell us how it is going!  We will post it on this page so others can share in your happiness.

Xena the longhaired Kitten

We adopted Xena 10 years ago, she is doing great, still very active and healthy.  We love her very much and she is happy and as beautiful as the day we adopted her. Just want to give an update, it is hard to believe it has been 10 years. We renamed her Gracie but will forever be Xena the long hair kitten!

We adopted a very shy and scared Xena on 4/19/2014 and she is doing wonderful! For the first few days she hid but she came around and is still a little scared at times, but she loves to be brushed and loves her food and treats! She love to look out windows and will fall asleep sometime looking out side with her paws on the window! She sleeps with us, but only at our feet and likes to attack your feet at night (playful not hurting). She is gets sweeter every day and we are grateful to have her as addition to our family! And she sure does like to play and has many many toys! She runs the house all day and has never not used the liter box or destroyed anything! Oh by the way we renamed her Gracie! We Love our Gracie Cakes!! Thank you! Kelly

Xzavier the Shy Black Lab
Xzavier the Shy Black Lab

We adopted “Xzavier, the shy Black Lab” about 6 weeks ago. We renamed him “Hogan”. At first he was quite shy and scared. We kept things quiet because we realized if we were joking around and being loud, it scared him. We already had a lot of dog toys around the house and at first he started to hoard toys. He would find a toy, and bring it to the bed where he lays and put it beside the bed. After a few hours, there was a big circle of toys around his bed! After a couple weeks, he is no longer shy and he doesn’t hoard toys anymore. At first we thought he couldn’t bark! After about 2 weeks he let out one bark when my son was leaving. I texted everyone “Hogan barked!” Now he barks quite a bit, especially when playing with our other dog. What a sweetie! He is so smart and funny. I now understand the bumper sticker “who rescued who?”
