About Justice | |
|
|
Justice was found abandoned in his home. He was surrendered to PRBJ. According to the people who surrendered him to us, he is happy and playful, likes walks and baths, and will jump on you out of excitement. He is also very fearful of thunderstorms. He would be best with someone who is home every day. That way, if a storm comes, you will be there with him to console him.
UPDATE 8-4-15: Justice would do best in an adult quiet environment home. He likes walks and going on car rides. He likes to relax with his owners. Fenced in backyard would be great. NO kids would be best. Another mature dog would be good to compliment Justice's personality. No cats. Please contact Judy at the shelter in regards to meeting Justice.
UPDATE 2-19-15: Justice once again is in need of his forever home. Unfortunately, Justice's owner became ill and cannot take care of him any longer. Justice is housetrained, would like to be the only dog and is fine with cats. He is good in the car and likes his baths. He walks well on a leash and is happy and playful. He is good with children. In a very loving way he can get possessive of his owner. He is so beautiful and would make a family a loving dedicated pet. Justice is ready to foster or adopt. Please take a moment to come and see this beautiful dog.
According to dogbreedinfo.com, in April 1899, Capt. Max von Stephanitz registered a dog named Horan as the first Deutsche Schäferhunde, which means German Shepherd Dog in English. Known for their tremendous loyalty and courage, they are calmly confident, but not hostile. This breed needs his people and should not be left isolated for long periods of time. They only bark when it is necessary. Serious and almost human in his intelligence, they have a high learning ability. The breed is so intelligent and learns so readily that it has been used as a sheepdog, guard dog, in police work, as a guide for the blind, in search and rescue service, and in the military. The German Shepherd also excels in many other dog activities including schutzhund, tracking, obedience, agility, flyball, and ring sport. His fine nose can sniff out drugs and intruders, and can alert handlers to the presence of underground mines in time to avoid detonation, or gas leaks in a pipes buried 15 feet underground. A quick daily brushing is best unless hair in the house is not a problem. They should be bathed rarely, only once or twice a year to avoid skin oil depletion. Shepherds have a life expectancy around 13 years.
