Travis and his sister Terri are inseperable. They were brought to us with the intake of 31 dogs from Georgia. All we know is they were in a kill shelter in Georgia together at the end of their stay before a kind lady pulled them at the very last minute.

Travis is the more confident of the two and, as a result, is the more laid back and mellow one. Travis loves, loves, loves toys. He is a ball dog, for sure and won't pass up any stuffed animal you hand him. He is extremely smart and he is always looking out for his sister. They are both very submissive puppies with generally sweet natures. Of the two, Travis is the one that will check things out first before Terri has confidence to do it herself. He is snuggly and loving and an overall exceptional dog. Once he gets settled, he has a go-with-the-flow attitude that will be perfect for any home situation.

As a weathered foster mom, I'm normally pro each dog getting adopted seperately. However, these two puppies have a special bond you do not see very often. They are yin and yang, and even sleep as such. Where you will find one, you will find the other. They love to wrestle and play together. They will run around, side-by-side with the same toy in their mouths with their tails wagging, not attempting to take it from each other. They share a crate right now and love to snuggle together.

Here are some highlights about Travis:

  • 100% crate trained, at least, up to 8 hours
  • Sleeps through the night in his crate without crying
  • Knows what "go potty" means - will run to the door and wait and will go potty immediately upon getting to the grass
  • 75% housetrained (this is miraculous for a 4-5 month old puppy) - will not poop in the house
  • LOVES toys - especially stuffed toys
  • Not an excessive chewer, has not even attempted to chew on furniture - sticks to his toys
  • Gives kisses, but not an excessive licker
  • Excellent with the toddler at home - does not jump up or nip him
  • Barks when alarmed but will stop as soon as you tell him to (not an excessive barker)

*** According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Labrador Retriever is a loving, affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Once known as the "St John's Dogs," the Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds in the United States. Originally from Newfoundland, Canada the Labrador was trained to jump overboard into the icy waters to haul fisherman's nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800's by English ships coming from Labrador, where the dog's fine retrieving instincts were honed and developed. One of the best family dogs and canine companions because of their gentle, loving disposition, the highly trainable Labrador also excels in drug detection, as a guide for the blind, and service dog for the disabled. The breed is also an outstanding obedience and field trial competitor. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing, and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play, especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard. They have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
