About Gumby the Happy & Loving Tuxedo | |
|
|
Gumby is still his sweet lovebug self, looking for a forever home! He is so affectionate with us, always looking for a scratch or belly rub, and he just always seems to be purring. He is very good about coming when we call him and is so happy to be held and loved. He loves to meet strangers, too. I honestly think this darling tuxedo boy will be happy with any household – with kids or without, an active household or quiet single person. He’s such a happy, happy cat!
Gumby gets along well with other cats and in fact seems to enjoy their company. He thinks both naptime and playtime are fun with friends! He is playful with others but also plays with toys on his own.
Gumby has a good appetite and nibbles from his dry food throughout the day. Once or twice a day he gets treats and/or wet food, which he eats with enthusiasm. He is very polite though and does not bother his people when they are eating. No begging here! We are feeding him a premium food which seems to help to manage his health, along with aggressive flea control, as he has noticeable allergic reactions to fleas.
Gumbo’s personality is just wonderful. He loves sitting with us as much as he is content sitting by himself. He just always seems to be happy. He gets along well with the other foster we have had. He is playful with her but also plays with toys on his own.
His appetite continues to be very good and there are no litter box issues to report. Despite some skin issues mentioned below, his coat continues to be smooth and he still barely sheds. He enjoys being brushed though it’s not entirely necessary. I have been able to clip his nails unrestrained if I do a few at a time.
So what is FIV? FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. You may be saying "Immunodeficiency virus? Wait, isn't that AIDS?!" No, they are not the same disease. In both FIV and HIV (human immunodeficiency virus, the disease that causes AIDS), the immune system doesn't work right. You could say they are very distant cousins. But humans CANNOT get FIV. It is only transmitted from cat to cat. Dogs also cannot get FIV. If you're worried about your FIV+ cat getting lonely without another feline, why not consider adopting another FIV+ cat?Special Needs: FIV +
