I have been with PRBJ since 1/5/13
Foster Update 1/14 - Donald is getting much better with new people. He is always the first of the cats to greet a new person. However, it takes a lot of work to gain his trust enough to be able to pick him up. He won’t claw to get away, but he will struggle. He is also doing better with dogs. He will now tolerate even multiple large, high energy dogs although he still does not enjoy them. He is still great with cats. He has yet to meet a cat that he doesn’t like. He is also still great with small animals. He actually likes to pretend he is a guinea pig! He will sneak into the guinea pig pen and start chewing on their hay. He is perfectly litter box trained and doesn’t claw on my furniture or curtains. He is definitely an indoor cat. He won’t try to get out, even if I accidentally leave a door open. He is very smart and learns the boundaries of where he is and is not allowed to go very quickly. All in all, he is a very easy cat to have around and would make a great companion.
Foster Update 8/13: Donald is a very sweet cat. He is very easy to have around. He doesn’t scratch at the furniture or otherwise destroy the house. He loves attention, and he even loves having his belly scratched! But he doesn’t get in your face demanding attention. If you give it to him, he’s happy. And if you don’t he’s fine with that too. He is somewhat shy around new people, but he doesn’t go and hide the whole time people are around. He warms up to new people within a few minutes. He’ll warm up even faster if they happen to have canned cat food (his favorite). He loves sleeping on my desk while I’m doing work, but he doesn’t get in the way or bother me in any way. He is good with calm dogs and is great with other cats. He is even great with small animals. I have several small pets (including hamsters, rats, and lizards), and he doesn’t bother any of them. And he is very calm for such a young cat. He would make a great addition to just about any household!
Foster Upday 3/19/2013 - Donald is a sweetheart! He loves affection, and playing with his siblings and my other foster cats. He is shy at first, but warms up to new people pretty quickly, especially if they have food! He does not demand attention, but loves when you give it to him. He is the easiest of his siblings to have around.
