Foster Update 12/7:  Three months old! Adora likes everything in a sweet and passive way.  She especially likes sitting on the back of your chair and playing with your hair.  Once that fun stuff tires her out, she’ll fall asleep, with her tail on one side of your head, and her little nose against the other side.  She is playful and purr-ful, sweet and loving.  A real cuddle bug once she gets to know you.  She would love to be adopted with one of her sisters.

Foster Update 11/6: Adora is now two months old and the middle sister.  She is shy, quiet, and the least rambunctious of the sisters.  Her long fur is as soft as a cotton ball, and when the air is dry, it sticks up everywhere.  Her appetite is good, but canned food is her only desire right now.  She will cuddle up with either Hoshi or Nikki, and sometimes all three will huddle one on top of the other.  She’s quiet, loving, and when you pick her up she’ll look into your eyes and let you know how much she loves you.

Adora's Story

I was born in a barn in the country.  My mom did her best to care for me and my sisters and brother, in that corner of hay and rags where she gave me life.  Before I was taken away, she taught me what I needed to know about life and love as her baby.  She fed me and cleaned me up.  She taught me to cover my poop so other animals wouldn’t know that I was there.  It was a warm place to be, beside my mom, but our world could be a dangerous place.

One day, when the sun was shining and it was warm and breezy, two big hands came and scooped me up.  I heard someone say that I was so tiny that something dreadful could happen to me if I ventured too far from my Mom in that barn.  These hands took me up to a beating heart and I felt safe.  I miss my Mom.  We all miss our Mom when she’s gone.  But my Mom would know that I was safe, that I would be well fed and loved.  She will feel my happiness when I move to a new home full of warmth, and food, toys and soft blankets to nap on.  I know she will be happy, as she loves me still.
