Halleluhia!!! Brent has a foster home! Finally someone to spend time with him and let us know more about him. And read what they have already learned:
"Brent is settling in quite well so far. It's only his third day, and he's already starting to fit in. He's not nearly as skittish as his brother Bobby, but isn't the social butterfly his brother Buddy is. No problems at all from our alpha male, and Brent, just like his brothers, gets along with cats just fine. He's a gentle soul, and reminds me of one of those poetry-writing soft-spoken guys on campus - just waiting for someone to discover how great he is, but too shy to advertise it. He found a couple of soft beds in the house, and is perfectly happy watching the goings-on, although my ornery puppy pounces on him every so often to get him to play, which he obliges. He paces a little bit while he's trying to decide what to do, but as he realizes how good life can be, I'm sure he'll settle down. He'll also let us do whatever we want to him, which is a very good thing - no grumpiness here - just longing for love. No accidents in the house at all, and we're going to start working on some basic obedience soon. Somebody out there is going to just fall in love with this boy - he's a real gem just waiting to be loved. "

Here is a new update from the end of December: "Brent is a quiet little guy. I say "little" because he just seems like a small dog - doesn't demand much space, and is content to curl up in a ball and wile away the days. He still prefers to hang out in his crate with the door open, but we've discovered that he loves to sleep in bed with us. He's pretty good about it, and seems to enjoy it a lot. He doesn't hog the bed much, either! He acts a bit aloof like he really doesn't want to interact, but when forced to, seems to love it. He gets along fabulously with our other dogs, and doesn't notice cats - even ones who get up in his face. He's very well mannered, and just a quiet, laid back kind of guy. He'd probably flourish in a home by himself, as he warms up slowly. He's still very shy, and will probably never be a bouncy in-your-face dog. Hence, he's be a perfect gentle companion for someone looking for a laid-back buddy. We've been working on leash walking, and he is getting over some of his fear, albeit slowly. Are you looking for a quiet sensitive guy? If so, Brent is your boy! "

Meet Brent, one of a litter of four brothers found in the woods by a gentleman. Do you want a gentle dog full of love and play? You couldn't ask for a better mix of breeds and a sweeter heart than Brent! Won't you give him a new home?
How much do you know about Border Collies? According to www.dogbreedinfo.com, the Border Collie originated in Northumberland on the Scottish/English border. The breed is descended from old British droving breeds with some spaniel added. An outstanding herder, this hardy, agile, untiring sheepdog, is capable of mastering any type of herd. It is said that the Border Collie has an eye that can hypnotize cattle. He crouches down and mesmerizes the animals with its intense stare. One of the most trainable breeds, the Border Collie also serves well as a narcotics and bomb detection dog and is a frequent high performer in obedience, agility, Frisbee(TM) trials, police work, search & rescue, Flyball, performing tricks and competitive obedience. Some Border Collies have been trained very successfully as blind guide dogs. Currently very good results are obtained with them for general assistance to the handicapped in The Netherlands. The Border Collie is a very intelligent and responsive dog. They thrive on praise, are sensitive and very trainable. The Border Collie is highly energetic with great stamina. Provided it gets sufficient activity to keep it occupied and ample exercise, the Border Collie will get along quite happily with other dogs, and children, however the Border Collie may be aggressive with other dogs of the same sex. They should not be trusted with small non-canine pets, however there are plenty of Border Collies that live and get along
