Dixie was owner surrendered to Pet Rescue by Judy.  Unfortunately the HOA would not allow the dog to stay.  Per Dixie's owner she is housetrained, like other dogs and cats.  She is happy and playful.  She loves to go on walks and walks well on a leash.

12/22/16 foster update: Dixie is such a sweet girl~  We soo enjoy having her in our home. She’s a people pleaser and wants to be loved!  She is perfectly potty-trained and has never had an accident. She has a super-sweet disposition, and is calm and relaxed. Dixie is crate trained~

She is very obedient and comes when she’s called; she, sits on command, sits when you are about to put the leash on her, and gives a paw upon command.

Dixie  loves to play ball and go for walks, but will lay by your feet or beside you when you want to relax. She’s really been a joy to spend time with.  When we’re walking her, many people and children always stop to pet her and she’s very comfortable around other dogs and really loves kids.

Dixie loves to run and be outside – keeps her nose to the ground at first – must be the beagle in her, and she’s super fast.

If the door was left open she’d definitely take advantage of it and go outside.

We were told someone who wanted to adopt her brought her back because she digs but we haven’t seen her do it.

She’s  not  one of those dogs who pulls your arm off, but she gets excited when she first goes outside and may tug a bit at first... especially if she sees a squirrel or a cat and given encouragement will run with you on the leash – maybe a former owner ran or skateboarded with her running along.

Overall, Dixie has been the perfect house guest and we are happy to be her fosters! She would make a wonderful addition to any family.
