My name is Bella I've lived here at PRBJ for two years and although I love everyone here I'd really like a home to call my own. Let me tell you a little about myself..........
I'm roughly 8 years old and have lived in a shelter setting pretty much my whole life off and on with the exception of a couple times I've been adopted here and there. I was never returned because I did anything bad I just don't care for other dogs and cats and I really love my people when I'm in a home and want to protect them. I never thought that was a bad thing:( I'm very strong and walk very nicely till I see a bicycle then for some reason it makes me get excited and then I start to pull on my leash. I love to sun myself and chase lizards, quite honestly it's one of my hobbies! I hate thunder storms and will shake when I hear thunder and will not go outside till the coast is clear. I am house broken and don't generally chew (only things I'm supposed to) and love to submerge myself in a nice comfy bed and snooze the day away. I'm getting older sitting here, I love every one here and they love me (I hear them saying how I'm a favorite:)) but I'm getting up there in age and really just want a place and people to call my own....

Dog or a Day Update:
Bella and I had a great day today.  She likes to ride in the car and rode nicely in the rear seat and waits to be asked to get out of the car upon arrival.  She did start barking when she saw a bicycle being ridden along the road.

She went to the door and let me know she wanted to go outside.  She loved exploring the yard and was most excited about chasing squirrels and lizards.

When I was cooking, she came into the kitchen with me but when she realized there weren't any snacks available she moved into the next room and just watched me.  While I ate she didn't beg and just watched out the window for lizards.

She LOVED playing tug of war but had absolutely no interest in the large chew bone I'd bought for her.  Her favorite thing seemed to be climbing into my lap so I could cuddle and pet her.  She gave me lots of doggie kisses.  Her tail wagged almost all day and I'm looking forward to taking her home again soon.  She's a sweet, loving dog.


Staff update 2018: Our sweet Bella has been at PRBJ for 2 years. We don't understand how such a sweet girl can stay here so long. She does not get along with other dogs, but wants to be with people. Once she gets to know you, she'll really bond to you. She is a very loyal dog who will protect her family. She loves to go for walks, chew on bones, and have a nice, big bed. She would prefer to have a fenced in yard or walk where its not crowded.  On walks, she will stay right by your side and she responds to her name. However, if she sees a car, bycicle, etc. She does not react well.

Bella is a sweet girl and hopes you take her out for Dog 4 A Day. Our Bella was rescued from a high kill shelter and was known as a "frequent flyer" because the staff at a previous shelter had brought her in 4 times as a stray since 2013, each time being in worse condition than before. Bella was lucky enough to be rescued from being put down. This sweet girl is crate-trained, playful, and enjoys going for walks. Bella can be a bit cautious with new people, but once she gets to know you she's the biggest lovebug! She absolutely adores people, but will do best as the only dog in the house.
