UPDATE FROM SPRINKLES

Be My Valentine!

If you're searching for the perfect companion, full of sweetness and love - look no further!

I'm Sprinkles. I got my name, because I love to sprinkle affection on everyone I meet.

Living in a foster home, my personality has finally had a chance to blossom. In fact, my foster parents say I've got more personality in my tiny body than most kitties!

I had a lot of trust issues at first. I was afraid to let anybody hold me or pet me too much, but now I understand that people are here to love on me, not hurt - and I want to love people right back! One of my favorite things in the world is sitting on laps, especially when the TV is on! I can sit there for hours, just purring and enjoying watching the action with you. My foster family says that makes me a great companion!

Did I mention how clean I am? That's pretty important for a cat. I am fastidious about using the litter box. You won't have to worry about accidents with me! I even cover up my messes before I leave. (My foster home has an electronic litter box, and I love to watch it move after I get out!)

Because I wasn't doing well in the shelter environment, people thought I didn't get along with other cats. However, I did pretty well with the other foster kitty who was here when I first got into my foster home. I was pretty nervous about him at first, but once I realized he wouldn't fight me and would let me eat in peace, I figured out he was pretty okay.

In fact, it wouldn't hurt to have another (docile) kitty in the house, because I am SUPER PLAYFUL! (If you want me to be an only kitty, I'm good with that, too - I can find lots of ways to play.)

I love chasing things and jumping around like a little kitten. Just wait until you see me hunt and catch a feather toy. When that feather moves, I love to bounce from the floor to the top of my cat tree and back down again. The faster it moves, the more I chase it!

Once I settle down from playtime, it's all back to lovings for me. Just take a seat in the living room or lie down on the bed, and I'll come find you to sprinkle you with some more sugar!

If you're interested in getting to know this tiny bundle of love, please consider adopting me and making me your FOREVER VALENTINE!

Love,

Sprinkles

Jan 7, 2020:  A note from Sprinkles foster Mom.

) Sprinkles is a cat lovers cat with tons of sweet and playful energy. She would do best in a home with lots of toys and vertical spaces for her to run and jump. Older children and adults will love her.

2) She is super sweet and loves to nuzzle. Sprinkles gets very excited at bed time and jumps on the bed for a few minutes to get petted and give little kitty kisses on your forehead. She doesn't sleep on the bed throughout the night, but she likes the door kept open so she doesn't feel isolated.

3) She doesn't like overly loud noises and sometimes seeks a quiet place to be alone, especially if the TV is turned up. However, if you call to her and/or shake a bag of treats (especially Temptations!), she'll quickly come out for a visit.

4) She absolutely LOVES her cat tree and considers it to be a "play zone." Rather than try to pet Sprinkles while on it, it's best to grab a feather toy and PLAY!

5) At first, Sprinkles may have some trust issues and not want to be held. Give her a couple of weeks, and she'll let you pick her up and will even sit on your lap.

6) It's best to pet Sprinkles near the head and neck. She gets a bit overstimulated when petted on the lower body (like many cats) and will tell you to stop quickly. She prefers gentle, light rubs or even just a hand rested on her, rather than scratches and hard rubbing. If you pet her wrong, she will either quickly ask you to stop or will consider it to be play and go into a playful attack mode with your hand and arm. She hasn't hurt anybody in our household or broken skin when doing this, and keeping a feather toy on hand is an easy way to divert that playful energy.

7) Give Sprinkles a TV with a catsitter video (found on YouTube), and you will have a very happy cat! She often stops to see what's on the television and has some unusual favorites, such as NASA TV. This tiny cat is all personality!

8) This loveable little furball is completely litter boxed trained. In fact, we accidentally left her in an enclosed bedroom for a few hours when we went shopping. She had been having tummy issues and raced to the litter box once the door was opened. There were no accidents on the bedroom floor. Plus, she always covers up her waste to keep the place from getting stinky. What a great cat!
